A workshop on web based communication has been organised for the workforce of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources -Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM) programme at KNUST. The 5-day workshop funded under the Netherlands Trans-disciplinary (NPT) project took participants through capacity training, collective and effective way of relaying information to its numerous stakeholders.
In an interview with the Director of the INRM programme, Nana (Dr.) S.E. Edusah said that, as an institution which provides a holistic approach to solving environmental problems, there was the need for such workshops to be organised to update its staff on the emerging ways of effective communication. In addition, Dr. Edusah noted that, the workshop would create a platform to collectively share ideas in the campaign of enhancing their visibility as a centre of excellence in the sub-region. He was hopeful the participants would be equipped with knowledge and skills to provide their intended services. He used the occasion to invite interested persons to enroll into the programme.
The Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Professor R. C. Abaidoo expressed his delight in the exercise and was grateful to the facilitator and participants for their active involvement and commitment. He thus encouraged them to put all that they have learnt into practice so that the world would see them as the real centre of excellence. “Enthusiasm put in was excellent and I felt overwhelmed”, he added.
The facilitator Mirjam Schapp, a consultant from The Netherlands, was very impressed about the general conduct of the participants. She said “the programme had been very interactive” and was confident that the main objective would be attained.
